Discover the beautiful Essex coast and countryside during the Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival 2026, a 10-day celebration of walking, wildlife and the great outdoors.

This year’s festival has been expanded with lots of new guided walks, alongside returning favourites and special events.

Led by knowledgeable local experts, the walks offer an opportunity to explore sweeping saltmarshes, peaceful estuaries, countryside paths and hidden village trails.

Along the way, walkers can enjoy the area’s distinctive landscapes, birdlife and wide-open views, with a varied programme designed to offer something for different interests and walking abilities.

The festival isn’t just about daytime walks. There will also be a programme of evening events, giving people another way to take part even if they are unable to join one of the guided walks.
