Explore the grounds at Beeleigh Abbey which is open each month on a limited number of days.
You will see three acres of beautifully maintained gardens in a historic countryside setting, with mature trees surrounding the many plant and water features.
There are also woodland walks leading to the tidal River Chelmer, Beeleigh Falls, cottage & bog gardens, along with an extensive formal rose garden filled with over 300 English roses, kitchen & soft fruit garden, orchard, wildflower meadow, wisteria walk, and stunning 85 metre long mixed border displays.
The extensive lawn contains the remains of a 12th century abbey incorporated into a mainly 17th century private residence, with an ornamental glasshouse & herb garden.
A new feature for the gardens from 2021 is the new Tea Cabin and Courtyard refreshment area.

There is no need to book in advance, however our last admission is at 15:30pm so please allow plenty of time to see the gardens.

It has just been announced that the famous historic touring fair will be travelling for its last season in 2022 before being sold. It will be arriving at Promenade Park at the end of May, bringing past times fun for all ages, including over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Experience the thrills of a bygone era and feast your senses: the rock’n’roll music, sumptuous colours, steam engines, twinkling lights, lilting fairground organ, the aroma of doughnuts, candy floss and coal.

Entry to the fair is free but you must have tokens for all the rides and stalls which will be available online, including special deals with extra free rides!
