Burnham Art Trail.
We are busy planning the 19th Burnham Art Trail. The trail includes regular and new artists. Once again we have Open Studios, where you can meet artists, see their sketchbooks, work in progress, impromptu demonstrations and buy completed artworks.
The shops and businesses across the town are displaying work from artists and creatives making a broad spectrum of painting, mixed media, drawing, ceramics, jewellery, photography, printmaking and textile art available to view.
The Museum Hub will show four featured artists and will also have the ‘Taster Wall’ which has become a firm favourite over the past few years. This gives visitors an overview of all participating artists. Additionally, there are unframed works to buy and Secret Postcards to bid for.
In total, 31 artists, will be spread across 26 venues, including at artists own studios and our regular schools project which will be a Conservation & Coronation themed display sited at the United Reform Church. The Trail aims to boost and promote the visual arts to all and we are looking to encourage these talented youngsters to explore their creativity.
Our celebrated Art on the Quay events run on both Sundays – 25th June and 2nd July, from 11am to 5pm. Look out for the bright pink gazebos opposite ‘The Olde White Harte’, where it will all be happening. Here you will be able to see artists and makers providing a rare opportunity to engage with the public to discuss their work, creative processes and inspiration.
To add to the atmosphere, we have live music on both Sundays on the Quay as well. Maldon based singers, The Mains’ Haul Shanty Crew will be joining with ‘Meg & Friends’, who play English Traditional music on a selection of vintage acoustic instruments. Together they are collectively known as ‘The Potato Badgers’.
