BASICS (British Association for Immediate Care) are your local emergency medical charity. We equip and support our volunteer Doctors and Paramedics, enabling them to respond to critically ill or seriously injured patients in the pre hospital environment and provide support, additional assessment and treatment, beyond that of the NHS Ambulance service. BASICS Doctors and Paramedics are available to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In most cases the Doctor or Paramedic from BASICS, will provide the same interventions as that of Air Ambulance crews, by providing advanced pain relief/sedation, as well as advanced patient assessment and emergency surgical interventions where required.
