Come Onboard for Jubilee and Local History Week
The Brent has been involved in many Royal occasions over the years.
She towed the firework barge along the River Thames at Her Majesty The Queen’s Coronation, and attended on the Thames for the Silver Jubilee.
Now for the Platinum Jubilee and Local History Week, the Brent is open for a series of activities and events, including:
Wednesday 1st June 10:00am to 16:30pm – Children’s activities and quiz
Thursday 2nd June 9:00pm to 10:30pm – Evening event to watch the Lighting of the Beacon
Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th June, 10:30am to 4:30pm – Open Day
Sunday 5th June 10:00am to 4:30pm – Open Day.
Events are free, but donations are required for the evening event and gratefully received for the other events.
The Steam Tug Brent Trust took over the ownership of the vessel in 2011.
Largely unchanged in appearance from her working days
the Trust wants to restore her back to operating condition as she was,
complete with working steam engine and boiler.
