Location : Latchingdon

At around midnight on Saturday 6th January thieves took a sledge hammer to the door and the frame of Holly’s Diner, Burnham Road, Latchingdon and stole her prized Juke Box. It looks like they knew what they wanted as they didn’t take anything else or cause any further damage.
A Pizza Delivery driver rang the police as  she  thought it looked suspicious when she saw two men carrying a juke box out of the diner at that time of night as she drove by. They had a dark coloured pick up truck and were seen to turn right at the roundabout towards Mayland. Police checked local CCTV cameras but drew a blank.
The Rock-Ola Bubbler jukebox is quite rare. Holly had it fully refurbished and it plays cd’s rather than records. She told us she thought it was bound to turn up as it is so big and bespoke and is quite rare. In other words, someone somewhere has seen this suddenly appear recently and now knows that it is stolen. It came with a key and remote control, which was not taken as they were stored in another place. Holly doesn’t think it will work without them. The thieves must have come in to the diner at some stage to see the Jukebox and decide they would steal it. To think Holly probably served them a meal.
She would love to know where it is so if you hear anything or have any information please contact the police on 101 or  anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
