On 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd December, weather permitting, Father Christmas will arrive by air and be joined at the aerodrome by two of his trusty reindeer. Families will have the opportunity to have their photos taken with Santa in his sleigh before embarking on some festive fun activities.
Santa’s workshops will be in full seasonal swing with our young guests decorating tealight holders, activity cubes and a festive letter to Father Christmas, before meeting the big man himself in his new log cabin on site. They will also get the opportunity to choose their own gift from his toy shop.
During the session, festive stories will be read in the Royal Engineers Workshop, plus the children will get to choose a Christmassy Freak Shake from The Mess, included in their ticket price.
To keep the occasion as magical as possible there will be a limit of 50 children each day and tickets are selling fast! The price for each child is £27.50, plus £5 per adult which includes a hot drink. Book tickets online in advance http://www.stowmaries.org.uk/event-bookings/event/
Chief Executive of Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, Ian Flint said: “I am delighted that Father Christmas will return to Stow Maries this year. It is set to be an even bigger and better than last year. The preparations for these special days are already well in hand, so make sure you get your tickets soon! When they run out, we can’t offer more, unfortunately. I’m also still getting used to this new Freak Shake craze, but they look – and taste – delicious!”
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome boasts Europe’s largest collection of Royal Flying Corps WW1 buildings which were not adapted for further military use later in its history. Over the winter season the site will be open to the public from 10am – 5pm, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Pre-arranged group visits, including coach trips, are also very welcome.
